Umbro x House of Holland
Umbro x House of Holland
House of Holland
"Manchester-born Henry Holland graduated from the London college of printing with a degree in journalism. In 2006, an idea for a T-shirt he made for his friend and designer Gareth Pugh emblazoned with the rhyming couplet 'UHU Gareth Pugh' developed into a series of graphic-inspired T-shirts. House of Holland was then born! The early designers referenced slogan tees of the eighties and featured rhymes about fashion figures such as Giles Deacon and Naomi Campbell.
Throughout his career HOH has been involved in various collaborations. In addition to collaborating with Kickers footwear Holland has also designed bags to commemorate the new Eurostar terminus and for Mulberry's London Fashion Week window. He has also produced a line of shoes for Italian footwear brand Superga.
This was the second time that Umbro and House of Holland have created a collaboration, this time they are "hooking up for a nostalgic nod to Britain's passionate football culture".
They explored and creating a 23-piece unisex selection of jackets, t-shirts and more. "Tapping into 90's subcultures and playing on vintage strips, the look here is updated with pop patterns snd contemporary silhouettes; star print tees and repeat pattern logos everywhere feature, as designer Henry Holland goes classic HOH with bright shades of orange and lime green noted throughout".
The prices for this collection was a high priced collaboration ranging from £61 to £93 but because of the Christmas period and January sales some of these items have gone down in price to range from £30 to £19 which is more accommodating to younger generations because of the lower prices.
